Neuropsychiatry

The Department of Neuropsychiatry offers general and specialist outpatient clinics to patient who have been referred to them by Neurologists and Neurosurgeons based at The Walton Centre. An inpatient consultant liaison service for inpatients at The Walton Centre is also provided.

The service is led by consultants Dr Kieran O’Driscoll and Dr Kevin Foy.

We undertake assessments of patients with:

  • Psychiatric symptoms in the context of neurological disorders (e.g. epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease),
  • Unexplained neurological symptoms (e.g. conversion and somatisation disorders) and Psychiatric symptoms where an organic cause is suspected.

Outpatient services include general neuropsychiatry clinics.
