About Gilbert Gravino


Dr Gilbert Gravino is a Consultant Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiologist at The Walton Centre. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Radiography with first class honours in 2010 and qualified as a medical doctor in 2015, both from the University of Malta. He studied and worked in neurology, neurosurgery, neurocritical care, and ENT at John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford), National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (London), and Addenbrooke's Hospital (Cambridge). Subsequently, he specialised in Clinical Radiology in Liverpool, and completed a three-year fellowship in Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiology at The Walton Centre.


In 2023, Dr Gravino was appointed as a Consultant at The Walton Centre and an Honorary Consultant at Alder Hey Children's Hospital. He performs therapeutic minimal access operations and interventional diagnostic procedures in adults and children, related to diseases of the brain and the spine, including ischaemic stroke, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, chronic subdural haemorrhage, carotid artery stenosis, venous stenosis, cerebrospinal fluid leaks and myelography, vertebroplasties for spine fractures, spine and disc biopsies, nerve root and joint injections.
