Being a member

Why become a member

  • You can elect new Governors - this is one of the most important things you will do.
  • You can also stand for election as a Governor and have a direct influence over the direction of the Trust and help us shape our future by sharing your experience, comments and enthusiasm.
  • You can engage with your Governors so that they can represent your views at Committees.
  • You can have your say on what matters most to you by participating in membership surveys and focus groups.
  • We will keep you informed on the latest news and developments by sending you a copy of Neuromatters, our Membership Magazine.
  • We will send you email updates from our Governors with news about meetings and events, including our annual members meeting, health awareness events and membership meetings.

How much does it cost?

Membership is completely free.  Events and meetings are also free to attend.

What commitment is there?

You can become involved as little or as much as you like, it’s entirely up to you and you can stop being a member at any time.

Who can become a member?

You don't need any special skills or experience, you just need to be 16 and over and be interested in what we do and the services we provide now and in the future.

Help our membership represent ALL of our patients

Our patients come from all ages, all minorities and ethnic groups and we want our membership to represent the diversity of all our patients.

We would actively encourage people to become members who are in one or all of the following groups:

  • Between the age of 16 and 30
  • Males
  • Black Minority Ethnic or
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender
