About Abhijit Das

Dr Abhijit Das completed his neurology residency from SCTIMST in Trivandrum, India. He did a postdoctoral fellowship in neurorehabilitation at Kessler Foundation and Rutgers University, USA.   

Dr Das’ areas of interest are general neurology, vascular neurology and hyper-acute stroke therapeutics, neurorehabilitation/cognitive neurorehabilitation with a focus on applying emerging techniques of non-invasive brain stimulation (TMS/tDCS) guided by functional and structural neuroimaging (fMRI/DTI).  

Dr Das works closely with bioengineers and holds multiple patents in neuro-engineering with focus on developing low-cost, point-of-care medical devices with practical application in resource-poor settings. He has received multiple grants for his research including a grant from The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. His other works involve application of artificial intelligence (AI) and systems thinking in neurology education and research.  

In his free time he is an avid reader, photographer and long-distance runner.
