Spinal patients at The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust have begun to benefit from a groundbreaking new surgical robotic navigation system – one of the first of its kind to be used in the NHS.

The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust has become the newest member of the University Hospital Association. University hospitals are specialty trusts with significant involvement in research and education. Their research puts them at the forefront of developments in care and connections with industry, while their work in education makes them central to providing the future workforce.

Today, Thursday 29 September, we launched our new three-year Trust strategy, which sets out how we will continue to deliver excellent clinical outcomes and patient experience with our team of dedicated, specialist staff.

Patients at The Walton Centre with a visual impairment will now be able to receive extra support after a new training package was put in place.

Over the last three years, the Neuropsychiatric Team has grown into a comprehensive service for both inpatients and outpatients seven days a week here at The Walton Centre.

Christmas 2021, Karen Parry, from Prescot, was making her way up to bed after a work night out when she fell down the stairs, hitting her head badly on the hall floor. Karen was rushed to the Aintree Trauma Unit. From there she was transferred to The Walton Centre for life-saving brain surgery.
