Patients at The Walton Centre have given the specialist hospital top marks in a national survey.

The NHS Foundation Trust was one of the best in the country in six out of ten areas, in a survey carried out by the Care Quality Commission.

Patient Lynn Burman said: “I have been a patient for 15 years and I couldn’t recommend it more highly.”

Lynn has a rare form of brain tumour and has undergone four operations at the neuro centre.

“The staff are so efficient they take away my fear and anxiety; it is a well organised, safe and trustworthy environment and the top ratings in the national patient survey are well deserved.”

The Trust received top scores in: waiting to get a bed on a ward (9/10), the hospital and ward (8.6/10), doctors (9/10), nurses (9/10), care and treatment (8.2/10), and overall views and experiences (7/10).

The CQC National Patient Survey identifies whether a trust performed ‘better’ or ‘worse’ or ‘about the same’ as the majority of other trusts, in responses to 77 questions. Full results for all trusts are available at: www.cqc.org.uk/Inpatientsurvey2011.
