    A Cerebral Angiogram is an x-ray procedure of the brain which gives highly detailed information about the brain’s blood vessels and the flow of blood through the brain.

  • Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner

    C.T. stands for Computed Tomography The scanner itself is a machine with a circular hole in the centre.

  • CT Perfusion

     Perfusion CT is an X ray examination that looks at blood flow and the amount of blood within the brain. This can be combined successfully with acetazolamide (a diuretic medication, sometimes known as water tablets) to assess the blood flow of the brain more completely than any other methods mentioned below.

  • Magnetic Resonance Scanner

    MR scanning is used to investigate a wide variety of conditions. It has several advantages over conventional imaging methods. One of the main advantages is that the procedure does not involve the use of ionising radiation (X-rays).

  • Myelogram

    This is a specialist X ray test to look at the spine. It is most often used in patients who cannot have an MRI scan or where alternative test results are unclear.
