Retreat and chaplaincy service

The retreat and family rooms are always available to patients and visitors for privacy, prayer and reflection. It is situated on the first floor of the main building.

There are scriptures from all the major faiths available along with appropriate prayer resources. If you have any particular religious requirements, please inform staff or the Trust’s Chaplaincy Team.

Chaplaincy (provided by Aintree University Hospital)

The Chaplaincy seeks to address the spiritual and religious needs of the hospital community, incorporating all the major Christian denominations and strongly associated with all the major faith communities. The Chaplaincy is available for those of all faiths and also for those who do not belong to a particular faith community.

The chaplains visit the wards and can provide any sacraments at the bedside. They are available 24 hours a day.

Roman Catholic Mass is held in the Retreat on Tuesdays at 1:30pm.

An Ecumenical Prayer Service is held in the retreat room on Thursdays at 10:30am.
