Home from Home

Home from Home 1

Home from Home has been designed to offer the comforts of home to people who want or need to stay close to their loved one undergoing urgent or emergency treatment at The Walton Centre.  To enable us to support as many families as possible during the first and most difficult days after an admission, there is a criteria to meet to use the facility and a maximum number of nights this can be reserved for. As this facility is kindly provided by our charity free of charge, we do ask for a small deposit to secure a key.

This accommodation consists of eight en-suite twin bedrooms including two larger rooms which are suitable for families and for those with a disability. Fresh clean towels and bed linen are provided.

The Fairclough Family Lounge offers comfortable sofas, a TV, kitchenette and dining area. This is to enable families to be able to have a space to relax and dine. There is also a quiet room which is very private and provides a space for relaxation and reflection. There is a fully equipped laundry room available which is free for guests to use to launder, dry and iron any belongings. Washing detergent and softener is provided and there is free Wi-Fi for easy internet access. Guest are provided with refreshments including tea, coffee and toast for breakfast.

As this accommodation is a priority for the families of patients who require emergency/urgent treatment, pre-booking is not possible unless under exceptional circumstances.

There are a number of shops within walking distance or short taxi ride, including small supermarkets.
