About Andy Nicolson

Dr Andy Nicolson is a Consultant Neurologist at The Walton Centre, specialising in epilepsy. He is also the Medical Director and Deputy Chief Executive.

Dr Nicolson trained in Manchester, his specialty training has been mainly in the North West of England. He completed an MD research degree in epilepsy in Liverpool.

He has been a Consultant at The Walton Centre since 2005. He was Director of Medical Education from 2007-2013 and Assistant Medical Director from 2013-2016. He has been Medical Director since 2016.

Dr Nicolson has a sub-specialty interest in epilepsy. As such he provides specialist epilepsy clinics, assessing patients with blackouts/funny turns and also advises on treatment for complex epilepsy. He is part of the epilepsy surgery MDT.

He provides a community general neurology clinic in Birkenhead where he assesses and treat patients with all neurological symptoms/conditions.
