COVID-19 restrictions to remain in place at The Walton Centre

Restrictions remain in place across the NHS in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety measures in place over the 18 months therefore remain in place at The Walton Centre - and in our other clinic settings within the community – until further notice.

Due to the increased transmission risk posed by the Omicron variant, visiting has been suspended within The Walton Centre except for exceptional circumstances.

  • Dr Shahd Hamid

    Dr Shahd Hamid is a Consultant Neurologist at The Walton Centre. She completed her neurology training and obtained the CCT (Certificates of Completed Training) in neurology. Dr Hamid completed a research fellowship in neuroimmunology and NMOSD. She is an accredited clinical supervisor and Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool.

  • Dr Glenn Holland

    Dr Glenn Holland completed his training in clinical neurophysiology at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital in London. His junior doctor training and research was completed in the North West of England and he was appointed as a consultant at The Walton Centre in 2020.  

  • Dr James Holt

    Dr James Holt is the clinical lead of the team delivering the specialist neuromuscular service.

  • Dr Saif Huda

    Dr Saif Huda completed undergraduate medical training in Liverpool in 2005 and completed neurology specialist training at The Walton Centre in 2017. Between 2012 - 2015 he undertook a DPhil in neuroimmunology at The University of Oxford before completing a post-CCT fellowship in neuromyelitis optica in 2018.  

    Dr Huda is the clinical lead for the UK NMOSD highly specialised service. 

  • Dr Brython Hywel

    Dr Hywel does neurology clinics and ward reviews at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and EMG and EEG work at The Walton Centre.
