The Neuroscience Laboratories

The Neuroscience Laboratories are a suite of laboratories based within The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, providing a comprehensive neurological pathology service. Consisting of three major disciplines; neuropathology, neurobiochemistry and neuroimmunology, the department specialises in assays for the diagnosis of neurological disease and is one of only a handful of specialist diagnostic laboratories in the UK.

Please refer to individual service pages for more information including test referrals. The Neuroscience Laboratories are accredited by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) against standards for Medical Laboratories - Requirements for quality and competence (reference number 8642). Activities accredited are described on our UKAS schedule of accreditation found on the UKAS website.

The department is also regulated and licensed by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) (license number 12030). Full report details may be found here.

The Neuroscience Laboratories always welcomes feedback along with any complaints regarding the service we provide.
