  • Major Trauma service

    The Major Trauma service is a regional service provided collaboratively between The Walton Centre and Liverpool University Hospitals

  • Fluoroscopy

    Fluoroscopy uses live X-ray pictures to aid the practitioner performing certain procedures

  • Speech and Language Therapy

    Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) work across the acute and rehab inpatient settings in the management of patients with both communication and swallowing disorders.

  • Sleep studies (PSG/MSLT)

    Help diagnose problems that arise from sleep or are associated with excessive daytime sleepiness.

  • Electroencephalography (EEG)

    A recording of ongoing electrical activity of the brain from the scalp. This ranges short tests, to a prolonged ward-based test with video.

  • Trauma Therapy Team

    All patients admitted to The Walton Centre following major trauma are assessed by the Trauma Therapy Team

  • Neuroscience Laboratories

    The Neuroscience Laboratories are a suite of laboratories based within The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, providing a comprehensive neurological pathology service. Consisting of three major disciplines; neuropathology, neurobiochemistry and neuroimmunology, the department specialises in assays for the diagnosis of neurological disease and is one of only a handful of specialist diagnostic laboratories in the UK.
