Visiting is once again welcomed at The Walton Centre. So that we can safely reintroduce visiting, visits should be pre-booked with an allocated appointment slot. Patients can have two visitors each.

General safety measures remain in place at The Walton Centre - and in our other clinic settings within the community – until further notice. These include temperature checks, the wearing of face coverings and social distancing.

  • Caton Ward

    Caton Ward is a 25-bedded neurosurgical ward that deals with a mixture of surgical cases

  • Neuromodulation for Pain and Pelvic Floor Instability

    Neuromodulation involves implanting electrical devices within the body to treat pain

  • Physiotherapy botulinum toxin service

    This service is provided by clinical specialist physiotherapists who administer botulinum toxin injections to patients with spasticity and dystonia

  • Hydrocephalus, CSF disorders and spina bifida

    Hydrocephalus, commonly known as ‘water on the brain’, is a condition that can affect all age groups from babies to the elderly.

  • Respiratory Physiotherapy Team

    The Respiratory Physiotherapy Team covers intensive care and the high dependency unit, as well as providing an outreach respiratory service 

  • Epilepsy surgery

    The Walton Centre has one of the oldest and largest epilepsy surgery services in the country.

  • Palliative care pain

    The Walton Centre Pain Service works closely with the Department of Palliative Medicine at the Woodlands Hospice, which is on the same site as The Walton Centre, to treat patients with severe cancer related pain.

  • Tissue viability

    The Tissue Viability Service provides specialist assessments, advice and management for patients who are under the care of The Walton Centre who have active wounds or who are at risk of developing wounds, including pressure ulcers during their inpatient stay with us.

    Cognitive neurology is the field that deals with brain diseases which primarily affect thinking.

    This service offers highly specialised evidence-based intervention via outpatient appointments
