  • Speech and Language Therapy

    Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) work across the acute and rehab inpatient settings in the management of patients with both communication and swallowing disorders.

    EEG stands for Electroencephalogram. This is a painless test which records the electrical activity of the brain, or ‘brain waves’.

    Tailored nutrition support to meet patient requirements dependent upon various factors including age, gender, nutritional status, and medical condition

    Recording potentials produced by the brain in response to stimuli such as a flashing light, sounds and muscle twitches.

  • Infection prevention and control

    The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team are a group of specialist nurses who provide advice and support on all matters relating to infection prevention and control

  • Neuropsychology inpatient service

    The neuropsychology inpatient service provides assessment and support to Walton Centre patients during their inpatient stay.

  • Respiratory Physiotherapy Team

    The Respiratory Physiotherapy Team covers intensive care and the high dependency unit, as well as providing an outreach respiratory service 

  • Tissue viability

    The Tissue Viability Service provides specialist assessments, advice and management for patients who are under the care of The Walton Centre who have active wounds or who are at risk of developing wounds, including pressure ulcers during their inpatient stay with us. 

  • Fluoroscopy

    Fluoroscopy uses live X-ray pictures to aid the practitioner performing certain procedures

  • Trauma Therapy Team

    All patients admitted to The Walton Centre following major trauma are assessed by the Trauma Therapy Team
