Clinical Neuroscience: Location and beyond

Date: 28 April 2025

The annual Alan Sutcliffe meeting is named in honour of Liverpool's first accredited Neuroscience clinician, and founder of the Walton Neurosurgery Unit, which evolved into The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

We are delighted to have incorporated the 2025 meeting into the programme of the International Festival of Neuroscience at the ACC Liverpool, and to announce the inauguration this summer of the Liverpool Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Centre at the University of Liverpool.

We are also delighted to welcome eight distinguished speakers - home and away, bedside to bench, brain and nerve - covering challenges in clinical science and practice that go beyond 'localising the lesion'.

There are three options for colleagues of The Walton Centre to register:

Afternoon registration (Mon 28 April, 1 - 7.30pm)

Employees of The Walton Centre are invited to attend from 1pm, explore the poster sessions and participate in The Walton Centre session from 3 - 6.30pm.

Full Day registration (Mon 28 April, 8.30am - 7.30pm)

Day delegate registration includes access to the Sutcliffe Kerr afternoon sessions, plus BNA2025 morning sessions

Bring Your Own Brain (BYOB) Liverpool

BNA2025 is more than just a scientific conference. You are also warmly invited to attend our series of public engagement activities taking place across Liverpool from March – May. Convened by Liverpool Neuroscience Group, our ‘Bring Your Own Brain’ programme of events features partnerships with Eureka!, The Brain Charity, Central Library and excitingly – The Queen’s Reading Room.

Those attending the Sutcliffe Kerr Lecture on Monday 28 April are invited to stay for the Queen’s Reading Room Public Lecture:

Reading for a happier, healthier and more socially connected life

The Queen’s Reading Room will host this public lecture on the benefits of reading, with the valuable help of some celebrity friends of the Reading Room. These talented friends include authors, literature lovers and scientists, all of whom have a passion for the benefits of reading on wellbeing.

·         Audience: Suitable for adults and accompanied children

·         Registration: Delegates who have registered for the BNA2025 conference can attend this session for FREE. Non-delegates are invited to attend for the ticket price of £10 (+booking fee).
