About Kariem Elhadd

Dr Kariem Elhadd is a Consultant Neurologist and sleep medicine specialist at The Walton Centre with extensive experience in the care of patients with neurological and sleep disorders. He has a specialist interest in complex neurological sleep disorders, particularly at the interface between neurology and sleep medicine, including central hypersomnolence disorders, parasomnias, and sleep disorders associated with neurological disease.

He graduated with distinction from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology, Khartoum, and completed his higher specialist training in neurology in the north west of England, including at The Walton Centre.

He undertook fellowship training in neuroimmunology and sleep disorders at nationally recognised centres, and has completed a Master's degree in Sleep Medicine at the University of Oxford alongside advanced studies in clinical neurology at University College London. He holds accreditation as an Expert Somnologist with the European Sleep Research Society and is credentialed as a Registered Polysomnography Technologist.

Since September 2024, he has been working as a Consultant Neurologist at The Walton Centre, where he contributes to the development of specialist neuro-sleep services and works collaboratively across neurology and sleep medicine pathways.

He has academic and clinical interests in neurological sleep disorders, epilepsy, and general neurology.
