Social value
At The Walton Centre, social value means the measurable impact of our services upon patients, staff and communities and we want our legacy to be to provide high-quality treatment, care and patient experience, and to have a positive impact on our people, city and wider communities.
For the last two years, the Trust has measured its social value impact.In the 2023/24 report, the Trust was able to evidence £227,251.45sv which provided our initial baseline. In the 2024/25 report, we were able to evidence £95,298,338sv impact which is a significant achievement and equates to the following:

Social value is measured in terms of:
- Work - local recruitment, career support schools, colleges, universities, apprenticeship programmes, pre-employment programmes
- Economy - comprehensive staff wellbeing programme, local companies spend in the supply chain
- Community - initiatives to support community resilience e.g. Liverpool Citizens
- Planet - CO2 reductions, recycling and reduction in waste, environmental leadership.

We have signed up to the Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership's Social Value Charter and have been awarded the Cheshire and Merseyside Social Value Award and Bronze Level accreditation for the Health Social Value Quality Mark which is the only national award specific to health and currently working towards achieving Silver accreditation.
