The Walton Centre Chair Max Steinberg CBE receives Honorary Doctorate from Edge Hill University
Max Steinberg CBE DL, Chair of The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust will receive an Honorary Doctorate from Edge Hill University in recognition of his outstanding contribution to public life.
The honour reflects a career spanning more than 50 years, where Max has played a leading role in major civic, economic, business, health and housing work across the North West. Max was awarded an OBE in 1997 for services to housing and regeneration in Merseyside, and a CBE in 2013 for services to business and the community. Max was also commissioned as Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside in 2020.
Max said: “I feel incredibly proud to be honoured in this way by Edge Hill University, an institution I hold in the highest regard.
“I understand the importance and influence that higher education can have, and I feel privileged to be able to use my experience, in any way I can, to support the University and its students in the years ahead.”
Max has been Chair of The Walton Centre since 2022. The Trust has recently began collaborating with Edge Hill University's medical education programme, taking on cohorts of medical students, who experience high-level neurological and neurosurgical training.
