The Walton Centre Core Group
The Walton Centre Core Group has been established to support and enable the work of the Chapter and translate it through the organisation. Current members consist of a range of staff across the Trust and meetings are held on a bi-monthly basis.
All Core Group members are trained and attend 2-day local community organising training which is hosted by one of the Chapter's member organisations in Liverpool. At the training you learn about broad-based community organising and how to build people power, take action and win change. You also have the opportunity to practice some of the key tools of organising and leadership, including the relational meetings as well as meeting people from across the Chapter.

There is also the opportunity to attend the national 6-day residential community leadership training to:
- Deepen your understanding of community organising and what it means to work with others in an alliance or chapter.
- Develop core community organising leadership skills e.g. 1-2-1 relational meetings, storytelling, power analysis, campaign strategy, action-planning and negotiation skills.
- Meet others working to make change within and outside of your organisation.
- Better prepare yourself to lead change in your community.
